For over 32 years, Learning in Retirement has strived to provide a growing number of retirees and senior citizens in the greater Stamford area with continuing education taught by top-notch speakers in the fields of art, economics, music, history, current events and religion, to name just a few. This past semester, for example, there were over 1400 registrations and 37 classes that we offered.
At the same time, we have sought to keep class tuition affordable, yet at a level that covers our expenses, which include room rental, speaker honorariums, and the technology that’s required to administer enrollment and deliver effective learning.
However, over the past few semesters, we have run at a loss due to rising operational costs.
